Legal E-Learning Content Director

The Content Director is responsible for driving Legal E-Learning interactive content development. Based on input from the market, this person will execute our strategy to produce a consistent, quality stream of new courses throughout the year. The candidate will also identify and leverage subject matter experts and writers to assist with these efforts. The objective is to execute from vision to create value-added content that maximizes the continued demand for and growth of our business in the marketplace.

The ideal candidate will be confident and comfortable at the tactical execution levels (i.e., both planning and writing), a strong researcher and writer, and skilled in communicating with a team of SMEs and course developers to ensure objectives and timelines are met while maintaining high-quality standards.

Job Responsibilities/Best Practices of role:
  1. Develop and manage the content development and refresh schedule for non-webinar programs, including script writing.
  2. Ensure scripts address desired topics, contain correct key messages, and align with style, guidelines, and objectives for interactivity and engagement.
  3. Lead the expansion of learning series on compliance, risk management, professional skills, management, leadership, generative AI, and more.
  4. Engage with internal and external subject matter experts and attorneys to draft compelling training scripts and interactive exercises.
  5. Coordinate with product and marketing teams to research customer needs and desires.
  6. Review courses developed by e-learning developers to ensure concepts are accurately brought to life.
  7. Stay updated on emerging trends, competition, technologies, and best practices in learning.
  8. Participate in change management initiatives by fostering open communication and minimizing disruption.
Desired skills and competencies:
  1. Legal domain knowledge or expertise.
  2. Customer-first mindset.
  3. Understanding of the professional education landscape, especially in legal, tax, and accounting fields.
  4. Familiarity with interactive course management tools (Storyline, Articulate, Captivate).
  5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  6. Problem-solving ability.
  7. Technical and digital literacy.
Education & Experience requirements
  1. JD required.
  2. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or relevant experience.
  3. 10+ years of experience in the field.
  4. At least 5 years in e-learning/content development, preferably legal content.
  5. 3-5 years developing learning scripts.
  6. At least 5 years supervising others.
