Job summary

PCI Federal (PCIF) is seeking a Legal Data Technician to classify legal cases and record key information in strict accordance with procedures. The role requires experience reviewing legal documents in a legal environment and delivering accurate, timely work.

Responsibilities include data entry, document annotation, QA checks, training new staff, and supporting related office areas as needed. This is a contract position funded through September 30, 2026, potentially extendable.

Qualifications

• Reads large, complex legal documents and extracts relevant information.
• Works in a highly structured, deadline-driven environment.
• Follows detailed rules and procedures consistently.
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of the Federal Court system.
• Shows professional appearance and demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a 98% accuracy rating and required production levels of work.
• Adhere to prescribed deadlines for processing documents and completing work.
• Conduct in-depth review of legal documents and identify applicable information.
• Develop search criteria and perform database queries to identify records.
• Create records in the database in accordance with rules and procedures.
• Annotate documents per rules and procedures.
• Populate and update data fields in the database.
• Perform self-quality assurance reviews and QA reviews of others’ work.
• Record production data in automated systems.
• Support other CISS Functional Areas as required.
• Assist in training staff unfamiliar with tasks.
