About the opportunity
As Legal Counsel, Insurance at Dayforce, you will provide legal and regulatory guidance on state insurance laws and regulations related to our insurance offerings. This role plays a vital part in supporting product development and license expansion initiatives by interpreting and applying insurance regulations to Dayforce’s existing and new offerings. You will act as the primary legal resource for insurance compliance across the organization.

What you’ll get to do

  • Provide legal counsel to Dayforce’s insurance business and operational teams, serving as the dedicated legal advisor on regulatory insurance matters.
  • Support Legal, Compliance, and business units with the interpretation and application of state insurance laws to existing and upcoming products.
  • Conduct legal research and communicate findings in a business-relevant, actionable manner.
  • Monitor changes in legislative and regulatory requirements at both state and federal levels and help integrate these changes into Dayforce’s products and processes.
  • Advise on insurance-related marketing campaigns, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Handle escalated legal and regulatory issues arising from Dayforce’s insurance offerings.
  • Draft documentation outlining key regulatory trends across jurisdictions and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with managing and responding to regulatory inquiries, audits, and exams.
  • Partner cross-functionally to assess legal risks and align solutions with business objectives.

Skills and experience we value

  • 3–7 years of experience as a licensed attorney with direct experience in the insurance industry.
  • Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills.
  • Experience interpreting and advising on U.S. state insurance laws; voluntary benefits and/or health insurance experience is a plus.
  • Licensed to practice law in any U.S. state.
  • Proven ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical guidance for business teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience collaborating across departments and seniority levels.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving business priorities and regulatory frameworks.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in ambiguous or unsettled legal contexts.
  • Confident self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
