What the Late Stage Business Development Operations Department does at Worldwide

The Business Development Operations team is composed of highly experienced professionals driving significant bookings and supporting Worldwide’s strategic position through collaboration and innovation.

This team manages a strong portfolio of existing business and works to grow Worldwide’s future pipeline and sponsors. They are responsible for sales performance, achieving sales goals profitably, and aligning sales objectives with therapeutic and commercial strategies.

What you will do

The Contract Associate is responsible for managing activities related to the development, preparation, and revision of contracts, change orders, and confidentiality agreements with sponsors.

  • Support the legal contracts team in formatting and drafting templates, contracts, and agreements.
  • Review and negotiate confidentiality and other contracts as necessary.
  • Manage the execution, delivery, and filing of contracts internally and externally.
  • Collaborate across departments to draft and finalize contracts and related documents.
  • Track document status via Salesforce and SharePoint.
  • Lead and participate in negotiations with sponsors.
  • Ensure scope of work and budgets are accurately reflected and defined.
  • Identify contractual issues early and provide solutions.
  • Manage the process to ensure timely execution of contracts and change orders, adjusting priorities as needed.
  • Attend project meetings to gather details for contract development.
What you will bring to the role
  • Knowledge of legal and contracting principles.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and reading skills.
  • Ability to redline contracts according to company standards.
  • Ability to multitask, analyze, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in pharma/biotech/CRO environments is a plus.
  • Self-directed work ethic.
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills.
  • Strong planning, negotiating, and analytical skills.
  • Customer relationship management skills and commercial acumen.
  • Understanding of corporate business practices and contracting principles.
Your experience
  • Completion of an accredited paralegal program or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least one year of experience with CRO or pharmaceutical data, sourcing, analysis, and reporting.
  • Minimum of three years of recent paralegal experience working with confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
