GREEN LAKE COUNTY seeks a Legal Clerk to support the District Attorney’s Office with advanced administrative, reception and case management duties. The role requires independent judgment and knowledge of legal procedures and terminology.

Responsibilities include maintaining file systems in electronic and paper formats, drafting and organizing case materials, preparing criminal complaints and subpoenas, performing legal research, and assisting prosecutors while upholding strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of post-secondary education or legal office experience.
  • Ability to understand Wisconsin criminal statutes and procedures.
  • Strong data entry and file management skills.
  • Discretion handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain District Attorney case files (electronic and paper) with accuracy.
  • Screen and refer incoming calls to the proper office personnel.
  • Prepare and organize case files in the district attorney case management system.
  • Prepare criminal complaints and subpoenas; manage discovery and court filings.
  • Schedule and coordinate pre-trial conferences; track deadlines.
  • Perform legal research as requested by the District Attorney.
  • Assist prosecutors during court proceedings and maintain confidentiality.

Education

High school diploma and two years of post-high school education or legal office experience
