Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Legal Billing Supervisor to join our client and provide leadership within their billing operations. This 100% remote, direct-hire position focuses on supervising a regional billing team, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing, promoting compliance with internal protocols, and identifying process improvement opportunities.

Compensation:

• $66,000 – $110,000/year (based on experience)
  
  

Work Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, standard business hours
  
  

Key Responsibilities of the Legal Billing Supervisor:

• Supervise a team of billing professionals, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring quality and timeliness.
• Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to support staff development and goal achievement.
• Maintain compliance with internal billing policies and resolve or escalate issues as necessary.
• Manage month-end close processes and initiate new billing cycles.
• Support overflow billing and handle complex billing assignments as needed.
• Ensure up-to-date documentation of billing preferences, client terms, and discount arrangements.
• Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to maintain strong working relationships and effective billing workflows.
• Partner with the E-Billing Specialist to ensure compliance with e-billing protocols and client guidelines.
• Serve as a resource for escalated billing inquiries and ensure prompt resolution.
• Assist in creating and maintaining department training and resource materials.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting excellence and accountability.
  
  

Qualifications and Skills for the Legal Billing Supervisor:

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
• 4–6 years of relevant experience, including prior supervisory responsibility
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and billing processes
• Experience with Aderant Expert and BillBlast preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to calculate and interpret billing figures, discounts, and rates
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service mindset
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment
