Qualifications

• Maintain composure under stressful circumstances.
• Maintain a courteous and professional relationship with the public.
• Possess discretion for confidential investigations.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with a legal background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome the public in person or over the phone, answer questions, and direct individuals to appropriate personnel.
• Schedule appointments for attorneys.
• Provide documents to the public such as bad check prosecution paperwork, and petitions for mental health and chemical dependency involuntary commitments.
• Assist in the preparation of legal documents for juvenile and adult criminal court.
• Assist the legal secretary and attorney assigned to Magistrate Court.
• Provide discovery to defense attorneys and individuals representing themselves.
• Other duties as designated.
