Albert & Mackenzie is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support our Florida practice in a remote environment. The ideal candidate has solid knowledge of Florida workers' compensation law, excellent drafting skills, and the ability to manage cases efficiently in a fast-paced, fully remote setting.

Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and settlement documents; coordinating with attorneys; transcribing dictations;

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as a paralegal or legal assistant in workers' compensation defense.
• Strong knowledge of Florida Workers’ Compensation laws and 60Q Rules of Procedure.
• Proficient in MS Office and PDF editing; remote work capable.

Responsabilités

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, settlement documents, and correspondence.
• Collaborate with attorneys for timely case management.
• Receive and transcribe legal dictation of status reports and summaries.
• Proofread and correct materials for grammar, spelling, punctuation, format, syntax.
• Respond to discovery requests and maintain electronic records.
• Manage case files: deadlines, calendars, tasks, and client communications.
• E-file documents through the eJCC portal and assist with trial prep.
• Accurately document and bill for all billable work and tasks.
• Receive and place telephone calls.

Florida Workers' Compensation Paralegal / Legal Assistant (Remote – Florida)

Overview

Albert & Mackenzie is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support our growing Florida practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Florida workers' compensation law, excellent drafting skills, and the ability to manage cases efficiently in a fast-paced, remote legal environment.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, settlement documents, and correspondence under attorney supervision.
• Collaborate with attorneys to ensure timely and effective case management.
• Receive and transcribe legal dictation of status reports, conference summaries, settlement disbursement reports, etc.
• Proofread and correct prepared materials for correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, format, syntax, and content.
• Respond to discovery requests, including preparing objections and maintaining electronic records.
• Manage case files: track deadlines, review calendar, create tasks, and coordinate client communications.
• E-file documents through the eJCC portal and assist with trial preparation (exhibit lists, case summaries, etc.).
• Accurately document and bill for all billable work and tasks according with billing procedures.
• Receive and place telephone calls.

Skills/Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in workers' compensation defense.
• Strong knowledge of Florida Workers’ Compensation laws and 60Q Rules of Procedure.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and PDF editing software (Adobe Acrobat, Kofax); Adobe Acrobat, and Dropbox or other shared cloud storage.
• Experience with eJCC filing system and legal case management software.
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Skilled typing ability (minimum 75 WPM) as well as strong writing, proofreading, spelling, and grammar skills.
• Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program preferred.
