Job summary

Morgan & Morgan seeks a qualified Legal Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced, on-site environment. You will support the legal team with administrative services, case file management, and billing coordination, ensuring smooth daily operations across the firm.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of administrative experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to multitask under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor’s Degree, or Paralegal Certificate is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of Administrative Assistant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule calendar hearings and deadlines; organize case files and logistics.
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
  • Improve administrative processes for efficiency.
  • Collect and organize evidence for attorney review and case prep.
  • Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents.
  • Research regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with reports and case files.
  • Manage client billing and resolve billing issues with the billing attorney.
  • Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings and depositions.
  • Manage documents in paper or electronic filing systems.
  • Provide general admin assistance, including calendar management and travel arrangements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

We are seeking a qualifiedLegal Assistant to join our team. As a Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for managing the law firm's day-to-day operations, including carrying out administrative services and supporting the legal team. This position's ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving skills, and comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic workplace.

Responsibilities
  • Perform administrative duties, such as scheduling calendar hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
  • Implement and improve upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow
  • Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation
  • Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and contracts
  • Research regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with the preparation of reports, case files, and legal advice
  • Manage client billing by preparing, finalizing, and sending out bills, as well as resolving billing issues in cooperation with the billing attorney
  • Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions
  • Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems
  • Provide general administrative assistance, such as maintaining the attorney’s calendar and making travel arrangements
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business
Qualification
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor’s Degree, or a Paralegal Certificate (preferred)
  • Experience in Workers Compensation, Personal Injury, Premises, First Party or other injury related practice areas (preferred)
  • At least 2 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant preferably in a law firm setting or in a corporate legal department
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a great attitude and minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including good presentation skills

This role is on-site, which gives you the chance to be fully immersed in the work and gain direct experience alongside the team. We’ve found that being in the office helps new team members get up to speed quickly and feel more connected.

Hourly Range

$24.52 - $28.85 USD
