The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of immigration law experience, a degree in Legal Studies or Paralegal Studies, and proficiency with MS Office, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and case management software. Strong organizational and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing and filing immigration forms and documents.
  • Manage case files from initiation to completion with deadlines.
  • Prepare legal correspondence to clients and government agencies.
  • Collect, organize, and review client information for accuracy.
  • Process FOIA requests and manage responses with the team.
  • Assist in collecting and organizing evidence for filings.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and organized filing system for all documents.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to gather information and updates.
  • Utilize case tracking systems and databases.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Prepare and process RFEs as requested by immigration authorities.
  • Coordinate with clients to gather documentation for RFEs.
  • Assemble case files for review by the legal team.
  • Conduct quality assurance on case materials before submission.
  • Review case files to identify discrepancies or missing documents.

Job description

The Legal Assistant at DYADlaw P.C. plays a critical role in supporting the legal team by handling a wide range of tasks related to U.S. immigration cases. This position requires a meticulous and organized individual who can manage multiple case files efficiently while providing excellent service and support to clients and attorneys.

  • Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of various immigration forms and documents.
  • Manage case files from initiation to completion, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Prepare legal correspondence, including letters to clients and government agencies.
  • Collect, organize, and review client information and documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Process FOIA requests and manage responses, working with the legal team to address issues or updates to the procedures and requirements.
  • Assist in the collection and organization of evidence for case filings.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and organized filing system for all legal documents.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to gather information, convey case updates, and address inquiries.
  • Utilizing the case tracking systems and databases.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
  • Prepare and process Responses to Evidence (RFEs) as requested by immigration authorities.
  • Coordinate with clients to gather necessary documentation and information in response to RFEs.
  • Assemble case files and prepare them for review by the legal team.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on all case materials to ensure accuracy and completeness before submission.
  • Review case files regularly to identify and rectify any discrepancies or missing documents.

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.

At least 1-3 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, preferably in an immigration law firm.

Familiarity with immigration procedures and legal terminology is highly advantageous.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and immigration case management software.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.

Compensation

25,000-27,000
