This full-time, in-office role requires strong organization and ability to manage deadlines in a busy litigation desk. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of civil litigation support, familiarity with Georgia filing procedures, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of legal assistant experience in civil litigation preferred.
• Experience in medical malpractice, nursing home defense, healthcare litigation, or insurance defense strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Georgia state and federal court filing procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling medical malpractice and nursing home defense matters.
• Draft, prepare, edit, and format correspondence, pleadings, discovery, notices, and other legal documents.
• Assist with state and federal court filings and ensure compliance with applicable filing procedures and deadlines.
• Manage attorney calendars, including hearings, depositions, mediations, meetings, and court deadlines.
• Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, expert meetings, and other case-related matters.
• Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files.
• Assist with the collection and organization of medical records, expert materials, and other case-related documentation.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, court personnel, and other parties.
• Assist with deposition, mediation, and trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and case materials.
• Monitor case deadlines and follow up on outstanding items.
• Assist with attorney time entry, billing, and other administrative responsibilities as needed.

(QPWB), a multi-office national defense firm and the largest minority owned law firm in the United States, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Atlanta office, supporting attorneys handling medical malpractice, nursing home, and healthcare-related defense matters. This is a full-time, in-office position offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

About the Role

The Legal Assistant will provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling complex medical malpractice and nursing home defense matters. This position is ideal for an experienced legal professional who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a busy litigation desk with multiple deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting attorneys in medical malpractice, nursing home defense, healthcare litigation, or a similar civil defense practice and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team
• High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
