Springborn Staffing in Portland, ME, is partnering with a well-established law firm to find a skilled Trial Legal Assistant. This direct-hire role provides one-to-one support for a Senior Counsel who spends time in court and works remotely, managing active caseloads and preparing for multiple trials throughout the year.

The ideal candidate will have several years of trial preparation and legal assistance experience, deep knowledge of Maine court procedures, and strong docketing and transcription

• Deep knowledge of Maine court systems and filing procedures.
• Strong proficiency with legal docketing software and dictation transcription tools.
• A quick learner who is highly organized and capable of keeping pace with a high-level trial attorney.

Responsibilities

• Trial Preparation: Provide comprehensive support for multiple active cases and assist in extensive trial preparation several times a year.
• Document Management: Transcribe and process dictated legal work accurately and efficiently as the attorney's primary method of drafting.
• Docketing: Manage court schedules, filings, and deadlines utilizing legal docketing software.
• Administrative Support: Serve as the primary point of contact and organizational lead for a Senior Counsel who is often out of the office.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting an attorney who is frequently in court or working remotely, managing active caseloads, and preparing for multiple trials throughout the year.
