Job description

The Legal Assistant supports the Legal team by conducting factual research, compiling and analyzing data, drafting legal correspondence and documents and affidavits, assisting with escalated client matters, and addressing customer service and operational issues. The role also monitors and responds to social media inquiries, supports employee related matters, and under supervision conveys routine legal information to stakeholders.

The position works directly with the General Counsel and provides timely, organized, and accurate work product that supports effective legal and business operations.

Essential Functions
  • Conducts routine and targeted legal and factual research and compiles data as directed.
  • Assists in drafting formal responses and statements for review related to escalated client matters, regulatory agency inquiries, customer service issues, specific policies, operational practices, and transactions.
  • Compiles, reviews, and organizes evidence and other information for escalated client matters, social media inquiries, internal hearings, and meetings.
  • Drafts and reviews contracts, including performing initial review of contracts and settlement agreements.
  • Drafts routine legal correspondence both for internal and external use, statements, affidavits, and other legal documentation as appropriate.
  • Identifies relevant legal articles, laws, and judicial decisions to support cases and to enhance internal business operations.
  • Assists with escalated client matters and social media inquiries to ensure timely, accurate, and professional responses.
  • Supports employee-related matters under the supervision of the General Counsel.
  • Conveys routine legal information to internal and external stakeholders under supervision.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • One or more years of relevant experience in a legal role either in-house legal department or law firm.
  • Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw sound conclusions.
  • Knowledge of the basic principles and procedures of legal research.
  • Proficiency with office equipment and software including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and reliable follow up.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain professionalism with confidential information.
  • Experience drafting non-complex legal correspondence, basic drafting and handling escalated client matters or regulatory inquiries in a professional environment.
Position Type

The position is full-time, onsite in the Irvine, CA office. General office hours are Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts
