Job summary

Enviva, a leading renewable energy company, seeks an organized Legal Assistant to support the Chief Legal Officer and the Legal team. You will manage calendars, coordinate meetings, arrange domestic travel, and prepare documents such as letters, contracts, and presentations, while maintaining electronic filing.

The role also involves processing confidentiality agreements, tracking invoices and accruals, supporting Board activities, and assisting Corporate Governance with quarterly meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience, preferably supporting a legal or contracts team.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency using generative AI and other advanced technologies to enhance productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and office support to the CLO and Legal team, including calendar management; meeting coordination; arranging domestic travel; expense reports; preparing and editing documents; and maintaining electronic filing systems.
  • Proactively manage the CLO’s schedule and serve as gatekeeper, coordinating priorities and ensuring appropriate meeting coverage.
  • Manage the shared Legal Department inbox and calendar, including scheduling Board meetings and other Legal Department meetings.
  • Handle confidentiality agreement intake, template adaptation, routing, background checks, and liaison with requesters.
  • Manage Legal invoices and accrual process, including coding, tracking, and reporting; support monthly accruals.
  • Review invoices for confidentiality and redact as needed; maintain unredacted copies securely.
  • Assist Corporate Governance with quarterly Board meetings and related materials.
  • Track contract renewals and filings; coordinate with stakeholders for timely completion.
  • Assist with special projects, including presentations and events for the Legal Team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Enviva is seeking an organized and professional Legal Assistant to provide administrative support to the Chief Legal Officer and broader Legal team . This role will help ensure effective coordination and execution of administrative activities, including calendar management, meeting coordination, travel arrangements, quarterly Board Meetings, correspondence, and other administrative priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and office support to theEVP, Chief Legal Officer & Secretary, includingcalendar management;meeting coordination; arranging domestic travel; preparing and processing expense reports; preparing, reviewing, and editing documents such as letters, contracts, spreadsheets, and presentations; and maintaining organized electronic filing systems.
  • Proactively managethe Chief Legal Officer’s scheduleand serve as a gatekeeper, coordinating priorities and ensuringappropriate meetingcoverage and support.
  • Manage the shared Legal Department inbox and calendar, including scheduling and coordinating Board meetings, monthly accrual meetings, and other Legal Department meetings and activities.
  • Manage intake of confidentiality agreement requests, including adapting agreement templates to the requested purpose, routing agreements to theappropriate reviewers, performing counterparty background checks, and liaising with commercial requesters throughout Enviva.
  • Manage the Legal invoice and accrual process, includingmonitoringthe Legal invoices inbox; coding and tracking invoices;maintainingrelated spreadsheets and electronic files; coordinating attorney review and approval; preparing approval summaries;submittingapproved invoices to Accounts Payable; and supporting the monthly Legal expense accrual process.
  • Review Legal invoices for confidential or sensitive information and ensureappropriate redactionsare completed before invoices are provided tootherinternal orexternal parties. Maintain unredacted invoices in a secure, separate location.
  • Assist the Corporate Governance team with quarterly Board of Directors meetings, including preparing presentation materials, coordinating travel arrangements, and providing other administrative support as needed.
  • Track and manage contract renewals, state corporate filings, and other recurring legal and compliance deadlines, coordinating with responsible stakeholders to ensuretimelycompletion.
  • Assistwith special projects, including creating presentations, conducting research, coordinating Legal Team events, and supporting other departmental initiatives as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Legal Studies, Business Administration, or arelated discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of1-yearofadministrativeexperience. Preferred administrative experience supporting a legal or contracts team.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstratedproficiencyusing generative AI and other advanced technologies toenhance productivity,streamline administrative processes, synthesize information, draft communications, manage workflows, and increase team effectiveness, while exercising sound judgmentregardingconfidentiality, accuracy, and data security.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, juggle multiple projects, and assumeadditionalresponsibilities over time.

Working Conditions
  • This role follows a hybrid schedule . Four days of in-office work per week will be expected during the initial onboa rding and integration period, transitioning to a hybrid schedule of 2–3 days in-office per week once sufficiently integrated into the role .
  • Schedule flexibility is required to accommodate occasional early mornings, later evenings, and ad hoc in-office needs, particularly around quarterly Board meetings and other key business events
Physical Requirements
  • Primarily computer-based workrequiringextended periods of sitting and/or standing at acomputer andtyping.
  • May also include standing, walking, carrying, or lifting (up to 50 lbs.) in support of team tasks.

The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, training, etc.

Salary Range

$70,000 - $90,000 USD

This position is not eligible for visa support.
