Morgan & Morgan in Atlanta, GA seeks an Administrative Assistant/Paralegal to work closely with a lead Attorney and Litigation paralegal. The role will involve coordinating calendars, managing case files, and supporting litigation workflows.

Ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, paralegal education, 2+ years experience in a law firm or corporate legal dept, and excellent written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files and manage logistics.
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices.
  • Improve administrative processes for efficient workflow.
  • Collect, examine and organize evidence for attorney review and case prep.
  • Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents such as pleadings and contracts.
  • Research regulations, laws and articles to support reports and case files.
  • Manage client billing and resolve billing issues with billing attorney.
  • Coordinate meetings, interviews and depositions with clients and witnesses.
  • Maintain filing systems (paper/electronic).
  • Provide general administrative support, including calendar management and travel arrangements.

Summary

This role will work closely with a lead Attorney and Litigation paralegal. Successful candidates will be responsible for areas including but not limited to the following.

Responsibilities
  • Perform administrative duties, such as scheduling calendar hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
  • Implement and improve upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow
  • Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation
  • Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and contracts
  • Research regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with the preparation of reports, case files, and legal advice
  • Manage client billing by preparing, finalizing, and sending out bills, as well as resolving billing issues in cooperation with the billing attorney
  • Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions
  • Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems
  • Provide general administrative assistance, such as maintaining the attorney’s calendar and making travel arrangements
Qualification
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor’s Degree, or a Paralegal Certificate (preferred)
  • Experience in Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises, First Party or other injury related practice areas (preferred)
  • At least 2 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant preferably in a law firm setting or in a corporate legal department.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a great attitude and minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including good presentation skills

This role is on-site, which gives you the chance to be fully immersed in the work and gain direct experience alongside the team.
