Job summary

Morgan & Morgan in Tampa, FL is seeking an Administrative Assistant to work closely with a lead attorney and litigation paralegal.

The role involves scheduling hearings, maintaining case files, drafting and proofreading legal documents, managing billing, and coordinating with clients and witnesses; on-site work is required to fully integrate with the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor’s Degree, or Paralegal Certificate (preferred).
• Experience in Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises, First Party or other injury related practice areas (preferred).
• At least 2 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant preferably in a law firm setting or in a corporate legal department.
• Highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a great attitude and minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including good presentation skills.
• This role is on-site, which gives you the chance to be fully immersed in the work and gain direct experience alongside the team.

Responsibilities

• Schedule calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, and manage logistics.
• Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
• Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
• Implement and improve administrative processes for more efficient workflow.
• Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.
• Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and contracts.
• Research regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with reports and case files.
• Manage client billing by preparing, finalizing, and sending bills, and resolve billing issues with the billing attorney.
• Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions.
• Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems.
• Provide general administrative assistance, such as maintaining the attorney’s calendar and making travel arrangements.

Summary
