Job summary

Hill Ward Henderson is seeking a forward-thinking Manager of Legal AI & Practice Innovation to shape how the firm uses AI in practice and operations. This hands-on role requires translating AI potential into practical solutions for attorneys and staff.

You will lead adoption, governance, and optimization of generative AI; pilot programs; and training to ensure secure, ethical, and effective use across the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in AI, legal technology, or digital transformation; law firm or professional services preferred.
• Demonstrated experience using generative-AI tools and developing, testing, and improving prompts with QA steps.
• Familiarity with AI platforms such as CoCounsel, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, Harvey, Legora, Claude for Legal; knowledge of ethics, data privacy, governance and security valued.
• Experience with training, stakeholder engagement, technology adoption, change management, and performance measurement.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to attorneys, executives, and other non-technical stakeholders.
• Sound judgment and a demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, ethical conduct, data protection, and client service.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI adoption roadmap across legal and business operations.
• Evaluate tools, run pilots, drive adoption and optimization.
• Partner with leadership, IT, General Counsel, AI Committee, practice groups and admin teams to ensure secure, scalable, ethical AI.
• Develop training materials, guides, onboarding resources, and prompt libraries.
• Build enthusiasm by showing how AI can improve productivity, workflows and client service.
• Independently develop, test, and explain effective prompts; create templates and playbooks.
• Establish adoption metrics and ROI; report insights to firm leadership.
• Monitor AI developments to keep the firm innovative and risk-aware.
