Job summary

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP is seeking a Legal AI Engineer, Corporate, to lead client-facing AI discussions and translate complex AI concepts into practical guidance for lawyers and clients within the Corporate Department.

The role requires a J.D. and at least three years in a law firm or legal innovation setting, with strong communication and presentation skills to influence senior stakeholders and drive responsible AI adoption.

Qualifications

J.D. required; minimum of three years working as a practicing attorney or legal innovation/knowledge management professional.
Demonstrated knowledge of corporate legal practices and transactional workflows.
Proven ability to independently lead client presentations, meetings, trainings, and discussions.
Experience advising lawyers or clients on AI, legal tech, or knowledge management.
Strong understanding of generative AI, LLMs, prompt design, and AI-assisted legal workflows.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with AI leadership to execute the firm’s AI strategy across corporate practices.
Lead client-facing presentations, meetings, demonstrations, trainings, and CLE programs on AI concepts and risks.
Act as SME for lawyers engaging with clients on AI, explaining capabilities and governance.
Advise corporate clients on AI applications within legal departments and matter teams.
Partner with partners and associates to understand workflows and identify AI opportunities in client work.
Apply knowledge of corporate practice to assess how AI may support drafting, diligence, transactions, and financing.
