Job summary

Mercor is seeking experienced lawyers to evaluate and improve AI systems' legal artifacts, applying litigation, drafting, and client advisory expertise to ensure accuracy and quality.

You will review AI-generated memoranda, contracts, and analyses, assessing quality and alignment with established legal reasoning and precedents. Start date is immediate, with an initial 4–6 week engagement and task-based payment, transitioning to hourly for ongoing work.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a lawyer or related legal practice.
• Experience representing clients in criminal and/or civil proceedings.
• Available to commit 20+ hours per week.
• Strong written English communication skills.

About the Role

Mercor is hiring experienced Lawyers to help evaluate and improve cutting-edge AI systems. In this role, you'll evaluate AI-generated legal content and workflows, leveraging your real-world expertise in litigation, legal drafting, and client advisory work.

• Evaluate AI-generated legal memoranda, contracts, case analyses, and other legal artifacts for quality and accuracy.

• Compare AI-generated responses head-to-head based on legal reasoning, precedent application, and drafting rigor.

• Review legal scenarios involving litigation strategy, statutory interpretation, and client advisory decisions and provide expert feedback.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Lawyer, Attorney, Counsel, General Counsel, Prosecutor, or another closely related legal practice role.

• Experience representing clients in criminal and/or civil proceedings, drafting legal documents, or advising on legal transactions.

• Ability to commit 20+ hours per week.

• Strong written English communication skills.

Additional Information

• Start date: Immediate

• Duration: Approximately 4-6 weeks

• Payment: task-based (payment upon first task approval). Experts who complete their first task within the required timeline will then be qualified to be paid hourly for the remainder of the project.
