GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of a division head in the Parish Attorney's office, performs advanced legal secretary work including supervising clerical, administrative and legal support staff. Must be familiar with legal terminology and capable of preparing and drafting legal documents. Work may include legal research and coordinating division projects. Performs administrative support tasks to assist the division head, exercising independent judgment and confidentiality.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma, GED, HiSET, or equivalent, plus courses in business education, and six years of legal secretary experience, including two years of advanced administrative support.
Substitutions: Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications/licenses: None required at appointment but must be maintained.
