Job summary

The SMB Team seeks a Fractional Law Firm Accounting Manager to join our client-facing accounting department. This full-time role oversees trust accounting, multi-entity onboarding, and the final review of monthly financial packages for law firm clients.

You will mentor staff, refine workflows, and ensure seamless operation of Clio and QuickBooks Online integrations across a portfolio of law firms. This position offers growth in a fast-paced, growth-driven firm.

Qualifications

7+ years of progressive accounting experience in a professional services setting with 2+ years supervising staff.
Experience managing 30+ accounts simultaneously in an agency environment.
Expertise in financial statements, variance analyses, accruals, and trust accounts handling (IOLTA).
Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Clio; ability to learn multiple systems.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for a small portfolio of law firm clients.
Final reviewer for monthly financial packages before delivery to law firm partners; ensure 3-way IOLTA reconciliation.
Lead and mentor team members; design training to improve Clio mapping and trust rules.
Oversee onboarding and setup for new bookkeeping clients; ensure smooth experience.
Help build and maintain scalable internal workflows and closing checklists.
Monitor portfolio health, deadlines, workload, and client satisfaction; report to Director.
Handle data entry, trust cleanups, billing portals, and financial reporting packages.
