Job summary

The Jewish Federation of Greater Houston seeks a Director of Planned Giving to lead a comprehensive legacy giving program, building relationships with donors, attorneys, and financial professionals to secure planned gifts that sustain Jewish community initiatives.

Reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer, this role partners with philanthropy, marketing, and engagement teams to align legacy giving with Annual Campaign and major gifts, while growing the Legacy Giving Society.

Qualifications

  • CFRE or Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of direct fundraising experience.
  • Proven success securing philanthropic commitments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and project management.
  • Experience with donor databases and CRM systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with volunteers and professional advisors.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage the Federation's planned giving program.
  • Cultivate and steward legacy donors through the lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with philanthropy, marketing, and engagement staff.
  • Integrate legacy conversations into Annual Campaign and major gifts.
  • Represent the Federation at community events and programs.
  • Work with attorneys, financial planners, and trust officers.
