Job summary

Houston Grand Opera Association, Inc. is seeking a Director of Legacy Giving to lead and grow our legacy, planned, estate and endowment gifts.

You will partner with donors, volunteers, and the Philanthropy Team to design strategies, manage a portfolio, and secure pivotal long-term support for HGO. In this role, you will develop annual campaigns, steward Laureate Society members, and ensure gift planning is integrated into donor solicitations while maintaining data integrity in Tessitura and

Qualifications

• Five+ years of front-line fundraising experience, with emphasis on legacy giving.
• Strong knowledge of philanthropy trends and donor engagement.
• Proficiency with donor management software and CRM systems such as Tessitura, Raiser’s Edge, or Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding planned, deferred, estate and endowment gifts.
• Design an annual marketing plan to grow the HGO Laureate Society membership and giving.
• Manage a lifetime stewardship portfolio for donors with planned or estate gifts.
• Solicit gifts from planned giving prospects and Laureate Society members for annual support, linking legacy donors to organizational priorities.
• Collaborate with philanthropy colleagues to integrate legacy giving into donor solicitations.
• Ensure gift arrangements comply with policies in collaboration with donors' advisors.
• Maintain accurate donor records and reporting in Tessitura for forecasting.
