Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is hiring an Underground Engineering Technician for the Leeville operations to provide technical support and QA/QC for underground needs. The role supports the Engineering Department Support Group to deliver results safely and sustainably.

The successful candidate will contribute to QA/QC of ground support, installation and maintenance of underground instrumentation, and participate in safety audits and training while maintaining testing records.

Qualifications

• Previous blasting experience preferred.
• Meet federal and state eligibility requirements on handling explosives.
• Valid Nevada driver’s license required.
• Explosive handling experience in a mining environment preferred.
• Heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Excellent verbal, written, and radio communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
• Satisfactory safety, performance, and attendance records.

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective, timely delivery of technical support and QA/QC needs for underground operations by enabling the Engineering Department Support Group to meet business goals.
• QA/QC of ground support (shotcrete and CRF strength testing, bolt pulls, gradation analyses, shotcrete slump testing).
• Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reporting of underground instrumentation.
• Participation in safety audits, training, and scheduling.
• Maintenance of all testing records, in both paper and digital format.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
