Position Description – Yard Jockey

Leer East in Milton, PA is seeking highly motivated dependable employees to join our team.
Sign on Bonuses payable after 90 days and 6 months of successful employment!

Overall Responsibilities:
Responsible for safely operating a tractor trailer at all times and transferring trailers in a professional manner. Safely operate and maintain the company vehicle in compliance with all company, Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather and work every Saturday.

Overtime may be scheduled, and Saturday availability is required.
1 – 3 years manufacturing experience preferred. Leer provides full-time hours, overtime, & 10 paid holidays from the date of hire. Eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package begins after 30 days of full-time employment and includes paid holidays, group health insurance, prescription drug coverage, dental, vision, short-term disability, and a 401(k) plan. Paid vacation is available after 1 year.

Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation (not accessible by public transportation).
Pass a 7-year criminal background check and drug screening.

We are a growing, well-established fiberglass truck cap manufacturing company.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Inspect vehicles prior to, during, and after each day’s assignment.
2. Maintain a high level of cleanliness of the vehicle's interior and exterior.
3. Report any trailer problems or deficiencies accurately.
4. Check in daily with the Transportation Manager to discuss trailer issues.
5. Immediately report traffic accidents, injuries, inspections, and infractions.
6. Follow all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and comply with safety and company rules.
7. Hold a Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (in good standing), with 3+ years of driving experience and a safe driving record.
8. Assist loaders in the yard as needed.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager.

Minimum Position Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Commercial Class A Driver’s License.
• Minimum of 3 years tractor-trailer driving experience.
• High attention to detail, skill, and dexterity in controlling the tractor-trailer and preventing damage.
• Meet DOT physical and medical requirements; subject to DOT random drug testing.

MVR Guidelines:

Preferred candidates can cross the US/Canadian border freely. Requirements include:

• Clean record with no violations.
• At least 21 years old.

Backing Requirements:

Ability to maneuver in tight lot quarters.

Automatically Unqualified if:

• Felony charge
• Misdemeanor charge
• DUI
