Job summary

Maxxima seeks a Project Engineer to drive lighting product development from concept through production on-site in Hauppauge, NY. You will coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and OEM partners and manage overseas supplier interactions to deliver compliant, tested products.

The role requires hands-on lab work, strong communication with global teams, and a focus on quality, ISO processes, and continuous improvement within an expanding engineering group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline as listed in the requirements.
• Minimum 4 years of engineering experience in manufacturing or production.
• Ability to read schematics and evaluate designs.
• Experience with electrical product development and testing.
• Familiarity with ISO quality systems and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects from concept through production with internal teams, OEM customers, and overseas suppliers.
• Serve as main contact with overseas suppliers for sample orders, changes, quoting, shipment tracking, and issue resolution.
• Support product evaluation with owners, test plans, and documented results.
• Perform hands-on testing, sample evaluation, and troubleshooting in a lab environment.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and present options and recommendations.
