The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, invites applications for a temporary lecturer in Food Science & Nutrition. This 75% time position teaches FSCN 3731/3732: Food Service Operations Management, with lab components, and requires updating course materials in collaboration with the program director and DPD director.
The appointee will advise students, supervise graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants, and pursue ongoing professional growth.
Food Science & Nutrition - Temporary Lecturer
Hours: 75% Time (30 hours a week).
This is a temporary position with an end date of January 13th, 2027.
The appointee will be expected to:
Required: MS in food science, nutrition or closely related field. Professional experience in working in the food service industry or similar. ServSafe certification. Strong culinary skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Preferred: Ph.D. in food science, nutrition or closely related field. Evidence of ability to work independently and in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members, evidence of effective classroom and laboratory teaching, evidence of undergraduate student mentorship
Pay Range: $68,000 - $77,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience
