Job summary

University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) seeks part-time Lecturers for the College of Education, Department of Teaching and Learning. Appointments are semester-by-semester and focus on in-person, on-campus instruction with potential hybrid/online offerings.

Responsibilities include teaching up to 9 credit hours per semester, following syllabi, using Canvas, and assessing student learning while applying culturally responsive practices.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education or closely related field is required.
• Experience working directly with children in a classroom setting is required.
• Professional experience in the specific course content area is required.
• The preferred candidate will have a terminal degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, JD).
• Current engagement in professional development activities in the specific course content area is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Teach no more than 9 credit hours per semester.
• Follow posted syllabus and Canvas content.
• Effectively use Canvas, an online learning management system.
• Create highly engaging learning experiences related to course outcomes.
• Gather and assess evidence of student learning in accordance with course expectations.
• Use effective distance and online learning methods.
• Respond to student learning needs in a timely manner.
• Implement culturally responsive practices.
