Electrical & Computer Engineering Pool

The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering atCalifornia State University San Marcos accepts applications on anongoing basis for our pool of part-time lecturers.

Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturerpositions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring.Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. Thisapplicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-neededbasis throughout the academic year. Applications in this pool ad will only be good for the current academic year. This pool will beclosed effective May 31st. If you wish to be considered for thenext academic year, you will need to apply to the new pool as itbecomes available by June 15th.

Minimum qualifications:
  • A master's degree in electrical engineering or computerscience, or a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering orcomputer science with multiple years of engineering practice in theindustry
  • Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State ofCalifornia is a condition of employment
Preferred qualifications:
  • Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrateintercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campuscommunity as it relates to teaching and, as applicable,service.
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience
  • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $6,008 perfull-time month

The salary schedule information for the Lecturer – Academic YearClassification is available based on the following ranges:

  • CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY: $5,507- $6,677 per full-time month
  • CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B - AY: $6,221- $13,224 per full-time month

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education andexperience.

Applications are accepted and reviewed as needed, on an on-going basis throughout the 2026/27 Academic Year.
