Position title: Lecturer
Salary range: The UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay at appointment. See the current salary scale for this position: UC Salary Scale. The salary is commensurate with college teaching experience. A reasonable full-time salary range is $68,247-$192,040.
Percent time: Positions may range from 33% to 67% time, equivalent to one or two courses per semester.
Anticipated start: January 1, 2025 (Spring 2025), Summer 2024 (date depends on session), August 1, 2025 (Fall 2025)
Review timeline: Fall and Spring appointments are reviewed in April/May; Summer appointments in October. Positions are filled as needs arise; submitting an application does not guarantee a position.

The Department of Anthropology at UC Berkeley is creating an applicant pool for qualified temporary instructors to teach courses in Biological Anthropology and Anthropological Archaeology. Applications are reviewed based on department needs.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach undergraduate courses and laboratory analysis classes that meet our curriculum requirements. We also welcome applicants with innovative approaches in related fields to fill curriculum gaps.
Responsibilities include teaching, holding office hours, grading, advising students, preparing course materials, and managing GSIs.
