Texas A&M University-San Antonio seeks two full-time, non-tenure-track English Composition lecturers to begin in Spring 2027. The base teaching load is 5/5, with responsibilities for teaching First-Year Composition courses, including technical or professional writing.

Candidates should be prepared to work with instructional technologies, such as learning management systems and digital portfolios, and may teach upper-division courses in the Writing, Media, and Culture track.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in English, or a related field, from a regionally accredited institution.
• Minimum of 18 graduate hours in English.
• Minimum of one year of college or university teaching experience.
• Experience teaching composition, particularly technical writing or professional writing.
• Preferred: Ph.D. in Technical Communication or Technical Writing from a regionally accredited institution.
• Experience teaching digital writing, user experience, technical or business writing, and digital humanities.

Responsabilités

Successful candidates will be expected to teach students enrolled in composition courses, including technical writing, and will be expected to work with instructional technologies, such as learning management systems and digital portfolios. Of particular interest are specialties in digital writing, user experience/user interface, technical or business writing, and digital humanities.
