Case Western Reserve University’s Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering invites applications for a full-time Lecturer (Special Faculty) to teach beginning January 4, 2027. This non-tenure-track appointment focuses on undergraduate teaching in EMAE 160 and EMAE 290.

The Lecturer will prepare lectures, labs, and course materials, evaluate student performance, and support hands-on learning in machining and CAM. A comprehensive benefits package accompanies the position.

Qualificações

• Master’s degree in engineering or related science, or a bachelor’s degree with substantial professional engineering experience.
• Expertise in manufacturing and/or computer-aided manufacturing.
• Ability to train students in the safe use of tools, equipment, and fabrication processes.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience teaching or mentoring in an academic setting.

Responsabilidades

• Teach EMAE 160: Mechanical Manufacturing and EMAE 290: Computer-Aided Manufacturing in fall and spring semesters.
• Prepare and deliver lectures, labs, demonstrations, and instructional activities.
• Develop and update course materials including syllabi and assignments.
• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Hold regular office hours and support student learning and success.
• Support hands-on learning related to manufacturing and CAM processes.
• Maintain a safe teaching environment in labs or shops.
• Collaborate on course coordination and curriculum planning.
• Participate in departmental meetings and related duties.
