Job summary

Case Western Reserve University’s Case School of Engineering (MAE) invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position. The successful candidate will focus on teaching mechanical and aerospace engineering, with courses such as design, metamaterial design, and digital twins, and participate in curriculum development and service.

We seek an outstanding educator committed to excellence in teaching and to mentoring students, with the start date anticipated for July 1, 2027.

Qualifications

• PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering or closely related field by start date.
• Clear potential for excellence in teaching.
• Willingness to assume university service and administrative tasks.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses (approximately five courses per academic year).
• Advise undergraduate and graduate students and contribute to curriculum development and innovations.
• Engage in departmental, school, university, and professional-society service.
• Collaborate across the university and with external partners including industry and national laboratories.
