Job summary

Qualifications

• Design assignments and assessments; submit grades in a timely manner.
• Provide mentorship and office hours for students.

Description

The Construction Management Program in the Cullen College of Engineering invites applications for part-time, non-tenure track, Lecturer positions to teach one or more undergraduate and/or graduate courses. Most instruction is in person on UH's main campus in Houston and may include daytime or evening sections, depending on program needs.

Instructors are sought for one or more of the following areas:

• Estimating
• Scheduling / Project Controls
• Contracts & Construction Law
• Construction Management (core topics)
• Projects Development and Bidding
• Other closely related topics in construction practice

Successful candidates will engage undergraduate students through dynamic instruction, group-based learning, and interactive planning activities, fostering both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver syllabi and course content aligned with program learning outcomes and current industry practice
• Design assignments and assessments; submit grades in a timely manner
• Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to students; hold regular office hours
• Use the University's learning management system and follow UH and Program policies and procedures
• Collaborate with the Program to support continuous improvement and student success

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field preferred
• Demonstrated, relevant industry experience in construction or a closely related sector

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior university-level teaching experience
