Description:

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) atthe University of Houston invites applications for anon-tenure-track Lecturer position at UH Katy campus. Qualifiedcandidates must hold at least one degree in Engineering, ElectricalEngineering or Computer Engineering. Ideal candidates will have aMaster's degree (for undergraduate courses) or PhD in adesign-related field (for graduate level courses), with an exemplar record of professional practice, scholarship, andteaching experience.

Candidates must demonstrate superior presentational skills, as wellas clarity in communication and openness to collaboration.Candidates with a strong commitment to innovative teachingpractices, critical practice, theoretical scholarship, as well asvarious specializations are encouraged to apply. Please be sure toindicate the ECE courses that you are interested in teaching.

Course Instruction will include the following areas:

  • 1. Control Systems

The successful candidate will join a collegialgroup of research-oriented faculty working in a highlycollaborative environment.

The Cullen College of Engineering is ranked #44 in the 2025 U.S.News & World Report list of top public engineering programsacross the nation. Houston is the fourth-largest city in the U.S.,with a population of over 6.8 million in the greater Houston area.It is the “energy capital of the world” and houses the largestmedical center in the world. The greater Houston area offersstate-of-the-art recreational facilities, world-class arts andactivities, excellent schools, and affordable housing.

This is a 12-month appointment, it may be renewable contingent onfunding, performance, and programmatic need. The anticipated startdate is September 1, 2026.

Employees are expected to have a home address in the state ofTexas for the duration of their appointments.
