Job summary

Utah State University Eastern seeks a Lecturer for the Engineering, Drafting, and Design Technology (EDDT) certificate program. This full-time, 9-month academic-year position is based at USU Eastern in Price, Utah, with an appointment split: 95% teaching and 5% service.

The successful candidate will teach foundational drafting and 3D modeling courses, focusing on basic drafting standards, 2D/3D design, and clear technical drawings.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Completion in drafting, modeling, or design (900 hours/30 credits) from a postsecondary institution.
• At least three years of industry experience focused on drafting/design per standards.
• CSWA and ACU credentials or ability to obtain within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Teach foundational drafting and 3D modeling courses.
• Cover technical sketching, orthographic and pictorial projection, scaling, and standard drawings.
• Instruct using 2D/3D modeling software; collaborate with program faculty.
• Deliver courses face-to-face, via broadcast to statewide campuses, or online.
