Job summary

The College of Business at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) maintains a pool of Lecturers in Business Law to teach non-tenure track, part-time courses on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses may be on-campus, online, or hybrid.

Ideal candidates hold a JD from an ABA-accredited school with at least one year of business law practice; teaching experience is preferred. Appointments are temporary and reviewed as needs arise.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school.
• At least one year of practice experience in an area of business law or related field.
• Applicants with prior teaching experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction to undergraduate/graduate students in-person and online courses.
• Maintains, develops and schedules student learning experiences to achieve learning outcomes.
• Plans, develops, and implements evaluation tools to assess student progress toward course objectives.
• Be familiar with learning management systems, such as Canvas.
• Other duties as determined by the College of Business.

Pay Range

$4,000 for a 3-credit hour undergraduate course. $4,500 for a 3-credit hour graduate course. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Work Location

Determined by course modality: On-campus, online, or hybrid. Remote teaching opportunities may be available under certain conditions.

Summary

The College of Business and Administration at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers in Business Law from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure track positions will be made. Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time) and will be made semester-by-semester. This position will teach classes in the areas of basic business law and accounting ethics. Classes may be on-campus, online, or hybrid.

This is a revolving Lecturer Pool for the College of Business. If there is a course opening and your qualifications match a course and the minimum requirements, you may be contacted at that time.
