The College of Engineering is a recognized leader in undergraduateengineering education and consistently ranks high nationally by theU.S. News & World Report among state-supported undergraduateengineering programs in non-doctorate-granting institutions. We arethe largest college on campus and admissions are selective. Weenroll approximately 7,000+ undergraduate students and graduateapproximately 1000+ every year. We enroll approximately 400+graduate students and graduate approximately 100 every year. Thecollege offers ten bachelor's degrees in engineering, twobachelor's degrees in engineering technology, and six engineeringmaster's degrees. Electromechanical Engineering Technology department offers twoprograms which are Electromechanical Systems Engineering Technology(EMSET) and Electronics Systems Engineering Technology (ESET). Itoffers collaborative environment with faculty from diversetechnical backgrounds. Both programs offer hands-on experience tostudents through projects and laboratories that focus on real worldengineering problems. Projects, laboratories and club activitiesprovide diverse polytechnic experience. Both our engineeringtechnology programs are multidisciplinary compared to otherengineering programs at Cal Poly Pomona. EMSET program is a blendof mechanical and electronics engineering technology. ESET is ablend of electronics and programmable systems. The departmentconsiders five core values - respect, integrity, collaboration,innovation, and accountability - as the foundation of its culture.The department is focused on providing a world-class engineeringeducation to students with hands-on experience throughstate-of-the-art pedagogical approach.
The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions arefilled as needed, based on student enrollment and funding.Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on shortnotice. The Fall term begins in late August and ends inmid-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends inmid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer Sessions mayalso be available. Teach assigned division courses in the department's curriculum andserve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load.Assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend courses. Theymay be requested to attend certain department meetings relevant totheir work.
Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based onprofessional experience and educational background and aredetermined by the hiring department. Initial appointments are forone semester only. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthlybase salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of unitsworked and are paid in six monthly payments for each fullsemester.
Most new appointees are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank andplaced at the beginning of the range. Anticipated hiring rangedepending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month. As ofJuly 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respectiveranks are:

The person holding this position is considered a "mandatedreporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect ReportingAct and is required to comply with the requirements set forth inCSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
