Job summary

Republic Airways is looking for an LOA Specialist to liaison between leave of absence vendors and Associates. You will oversee leave processing, return-to-work, and fitness-for-duty determinations.

The role requires knowledge of FMLA/ADA and careful handling of confidential information, with collaboration across HR, legal, and union relations. Strong communication and Microsoft Office proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2 years of related health and welfare administration experience.
• Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and state/local leave laws.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains communication with Associates on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work.
• Relays communication between employees and their managers during leave as appropriate.
• Advises managers and Associates on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off and short/long term disability benefits.
• Responds to inquiries via phone, email, or in person regarding leaves and required paperwork.
• Oversees the return-to-work process for Associates returning from extended leave.
• Manages the fitness for duty process with the vendor and determines return to work.
• Develops and analyzes leaves metrics and prepares reports as requested.
• Ensures compliance with CBAs, policies, and labor laws; collaborates with Legal and Employee Relations.
