Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Leasing Specialist 5 to support government leasing and financing transactions in the GLF within Equipment Finance. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, lien perfection, and timely funding, working with Sales, Credit, Legal, and Funding teams in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to handle high-volume work, and collaboration across multiple departments to ensure compliant closings.

Qualifications

  • Six to eight years of experience in leasing or other financial operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of leasing and lending products.
  • Strong understanding of credit policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work across multiple functional areas to resolve documentation needs.
  • Strong critical thinking related to lease and loan documentation construction.
  • Ability to learn multiple software applications; strong PC skills.
  • Strong mathematical abilities and basic accounting knowledge.

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Adobe experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review loan and lease documentation, coordinating with the Documentation Preparation team.
  • Manage documentation from doc prep through execution and transition to the loan closing function.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant prior to funding.
  • Run comprehensive UCC searches to confirm lien positions.
  • Submit PMSI filings and ensure proper PMSI status based on UCC results.
  • Maintain first-position security interests for applicable items.
  • Prepare and manage a high volume of outgoing subordination letters.
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to secure subordinations and lien priority.
  • Work with Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, Legal and other partners to resolve documentation questions.
  • Track and facilitate all moving parts of a transaction for timely closings.
  • Ensure all closing requirements are satisfied prior to funding.
  • Submit completed documentation packages to Funding for DFS Wholesale transactions.
  • Maintain high accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail.
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.
  • Apply critical thinking to resolve complex documentation and closing issues.
  • Participate in cross-training to support documentation preparation and loan closing.
  • Provide team coverage within a small, collaborative group.

Job Description

The Government Leasing & Finance Group (GLF) is a specialised business within U.S. Bank's Equipment Finance organization that partners with federal, state, and local government entities to provide equipment financing and leasing solutions. GLF supports a diverse range of public-sector customers and complex financing structures, requiring a deep understanding of both equipment finance and municipal/government leasing. The business is known for its highly specialised nature, serving customers with unique operational, regulatory, and documentation requirements while delivering financing solutions that help government organizations acquire essential equipment and infrastructure. experience.

The Leasing Specialist 5 plays a critical role in supporting lease and loan transactions by ensuring documentation accuracy, lien perfection, and timely funding. This role partners closely with Sales (Relationship Managers), Credit (Portfolio Managers), Legal, Documentation Prep, and Funding teams to support smooth, compliant closings. The environment is fast‑paced and dynamic, with changing priorities and exposure to a wide variety of dealers, manufacturers, and transaction structures. Key Responsibilities

Loan and Lease Documentation

  • Prepare and review loan and lease documentation, coordinating closely with the Documentation Preparation team.
  • Manage documentation returned from doc prep through execution and transition to the loan closing function.
  • Ensure all required documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant prior to funding.

UCC and PMSI Processing

  • Run comprehensive UCC searches to confirm lien positions.
  • Submit PMSI filings and ensure proper PMSI status based on UCC results.
  • Maintain first‑position security interests for all applicable items.

Subordination and Lien Management

  • Prepare and manage a high volume of outgoing subordination letters.
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to secure required subordinations and ensure proper lien priority.

Cross‑Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, Legal, and other internal partners to resolve documentation questions and discrepancies.
  • Actively track and facilitate all moving parts of a transaction to support timely closings and minimize customer impact.

Funding Preparation

  • Ensure all closing requirements are satisfied prior to funding.
  • Submit completed documentation packages to the Funding team for DFS Wholesale transactions.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail.
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines in a high‑volume environment.
  • Apply critical thinking to resolve complex documentation and closing issues.

Team Support and Development

  • Participate in cross‑training to support both documentation preparation and loan closing activities.
  • Provide team coverage as needed within a small, collaborative group.
  • Learn primarily through peer‑to‑peer training, job shadowing, and desk manuals.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six to eight years of experience in leasing or other financial operations

Location expectations

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. Pay Range: $27.50 - $36.68
