Job summary

Abbey Residential is seeking a Leasing Consultant for an on-site role at a Houston community. You will conduct property tours, explain lease terms, process applications and guide residents from inquiry to move-in, while maintaining accurate paperwork and high standard of service.

You will manage phone, email and in-person inquiries, stay informed on unit availability and amenities, and support community events to enhance resident satisfaction and occupancy goals.

Qualifications

• Experience with leases and lease administration, including explaining terms, processing applications, and ensuring accurate documentation.
• Strong resident retention skills, with the ability to build rapport, foster long-term relationships, and support renewal efforts.
• Excellent communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication with residents, prospects, and team members.
• Demonstrated customer service skills, with a commitment to providing responsive, courteous, and solution-focused support.
• Prior leasing, property management, or multifamily housing experience is preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in Houston, TX, including weekends or evenings as needed to meet community and resident needs.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and proficiency in basic computer applications and property management software.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in real estate, business, or a related field is a plus.

Role Description This full-time, on-site Leasing Consultant role is based at an Abbey Residential community in Houston, TX. The Leasing Consultant is responsible for engaging prospective residents, conducting property tours, explaining lease terms, and guiding applicants through the leasing process from initial inquiry to move-in. Daily activities include managing phone, email, and in-person inquiries, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of available units, features, and amenities, and accurately handling lease administration and related paperwork. The role also focuses on resident retention by building positive relationships, responding promptly to concerns, and supporting community events and initiatives that enhance the resident experience.
