Job summary

CommonPlace in Charlotte is seeking a Leasing Agent to welcome prospective residents, lead tours, and showcase apartments and community features. You will guide applicants through the leasing process, maintain files, and ensure move‑in readiness while upholding Fair Housing laws.

The role emphasizes strong communication, customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with some weekend shifts. On-site work with opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate clearly with prospects and residents.
• Experience in customer service or sales is a plus.
• Proficiency with standard office software required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with maintenance to ensure curb appeal and move-in readiness.
• Plan and participate in resident events to build community.

What You’ll Do

• Welcome prospective residents, lead tours, and showcase apartments, amenities, and community features
• Ensure all model units, common areas, and tour paths are clean and ready to impress
• Guide applicants through the full leasing process: applications, screenings, deposits, lease agreements, and move‑ins
• Keep resident files accurate and up to date
• Enforce renter’s insurance compliance
• Maintain strong knowledge of the local market and competitor communities
• Implement marketing strategies and use digital tools (social media, property websites, listing platforms) to generate leads
• Respond quickly to all leads and follow up consistently
• Build lasting relationships with prospects and residents through excellent communication
• Support lease renewals by preparing documents, meeting with residents, and ensuring smooth renewals
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure curb appeal and move‑in readiness
• Plan and participate in resident events that build a sense of community
• Handle resident requests and concerns with care and professionalism
• Represent CommonPlace with a polished, positive appearance and attitude
• Follow Fair Housing laws and company policies consistently in every interaction with prospects, applicants, and residents

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Availability to work Monday‑Friday, with some weekends as needed
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Leasing experience preferred
• Professional, courteous, and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite required; OneSite/Appfolio experience preferred)
• Customer service or sales background is a plus
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation
