Position Summary
As a Leasing Consultant, you are a dynamic professional who easily relates and communicates with prospective and current residents of your community. This role is responsible for coordinating the community's marketing, leasing, and renewal strategies to achieve occupancy and revenue retention goals. A successful Leasing Consultant manages their time effectively, is detail-oriented, trustworthy, a team player, and takes pride in their work. Additionally, this position requires accountability and attentiveness to provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents, associates, and vendors.
Primary Responsibilities
- Walk marketing tour path, open target viewing apartments, ensure apartments and community amenities are clean and rent-ready
- Respond promptly to resident and prospective resident calls and emails in the morning
- Answer incoming calls, convert them into walk-in traffic, and set viewing appointments
- Tour prospective residents with energy and enthusiasm
- Facilitate the application process at the end of tours to ensure successful leasing
- Review and process all applications immediately upon receipt
- Communicate timely and respectfully with applicants regarding results
- Follow Weidner Move-In Experience procedures with all approved applicants
- Maintain and follow up on traffic in queue
- Shop competitive properties monthly; adhere to daily marketing and leasing strategies
- Ensure market-ready apartments, common areas, and amenities are maintained daily to Weidner's standards
- Distribute resident correspondence and notices while maintaining confidentiality
- Accompany vendors to units as needed
- Assist with lease renewals promptly to promote resident retention
- Keep leasing office clean, orderly, and professional at all times
- Create, store, and maintain residential files securely
- Collect revenues, including rents, deposits, and fees
- Accept and document service requests; follow up upon completion
- Follow all key logging and storage procedures
- Maintain regular communication with the Community Director
- Promote safety and proper use of PPE to minimize hazards
- Respond to safety issues, accidents, liabilities, and emergencies immediately
Qualifications
- Prior customer service experience required
- Ability to complete tasks safely and efficiently
- Motivated to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to give professional directions clearly via in person, phone, email, and text
- Experience with Microsoft Office preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Yardi and Paycom experience preferred; willing to learn new software
- Adherence to Weidner's Mission, Vision, and Values; compliance with all policies and laws
- Prompt attendance; professional appearance and dress code adherence
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours as needed
- Willingness to be assigned to other properties as needed
- Working knowledge of English; detail-oriented and organized
- Must pass criminal background check and agree to drug testing
- Reliable transportation; valid driver's license, vehicle, and insurance
