Job summary

CRM Residential is seeking a Leasing Associate in the United States to support property management teams. You will screen residents, process applications, maintain vacancy reports, and coordinate leasing activities to keep communities filled and compliant.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm. The position offers comprehensive health coverage, retirement savings with employer contributions, PTO, holidays, and potential bonuses.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent education required.
• Previous leasing associate experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to interact well with people and make them feel comfortable quickly.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Screen and select residents according to property criteria.
• Process applications for subsidized and market-rate units.
• Prepare and maintain vacancy and traffic reports and move-out notices.
• Maintain waiting list per NJHMFA and CRM guidelines.
• Keep Leasing Center orderly and open during office hours.
• Follow up with applicants and coordinate move-in dates.
• Communicate pre-leased apartments with Maintenance for ready dates.
• Maintain accurate resident information cards.
• Attend seminars and trade association meetings as recommended.

Pay Rate: $28.50 – $30.00 per hour

What You’ll Get To Do:

The Leasing Associate will receive general supervision and direction from the Community Manager. The Leasing Associate will comply with established policies and procedures and not act contrary to such guidelines without Community Manager approval. The Leasing Associate will be responsible for but not mandatory to:

• Resident selection and screening according to the property’s current Resident Selection Criteria.
• Processing of all applications subsidized and market applicants.
• Responsible for the preparation and status of the vacancy report, traffic reports and status of move out notices.
• Maintain the property’s waiting list according to the guidelines set forth by the New Jersey Housing Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) and CRM Residential.
• Maintain Leasing Center in an orderly and professional manner and according to established office hours.
• Responsible for all follow‑up with applicants.
• Coordinate and communicate with Maintenance Supervisor projected ready dates of apartments that have already been pre‑leased.
• Maintain vacancy board in Management Office which will match weekly vacancy report.
• Maintain accurate and updated resident information cards.
• Attend seminars and trade association meetings as recommended by the New Jersey Housing Mortgage Finance Agency and CRM.
• Participate in the move‑in orientation in various ways.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent education required.
• Previous leasing associate experience. Experience level may vary due to the special needs of the property.
• The position requires the ability to deal well with people and get them to feel comfortable quickly.
• Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
• The position requires effective oral and written communication skills.
• Valid Drivers License
• Full Time Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm

Physical/Working Requirements:

• Stand and walk or sit alternatively depending on specific needs of the day.
• Constant need to bend/stoop/squat, climb stairs, push, or pull, reach above shoulder, filing, open/close doors/drawers, grasping/turning, writing/typing
