Job summary

ONYX Multifamily Group operates Ranch at 1856 in San Marcos, TX. We seek a customer-focused Leasing Agent to manage inquiries, tours, and the leasing process with strong tenant relations.

You will conduct tours, process applications, screen tenants, and coordinate with marketing for unit promotion, ensuring compliance and high service standards within a vibrant multifamily community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of experience in Leasing, Property Management, Real Estate, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Fair Housing requirements and applicable leasing regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet prospective tenants, providing a positive first impression.
• Assist prospective tenants through the leasing process by answering questions and addressing concerns.
• Build rapport with prospective and current tenants and maintain positive relationships.
• Conduct property tours showcasing available apartment homes, amenities, and communal areas.
• Highlight features and benefits of units and the community to prospective tenants.
• Assist with the application process and ensure required documents are complete and accurate.
• Conduct tenant screenings in compliance with policies and Fair Housing regulations.
• Assist with lease negotiations and explain terms, rent procedures, and fees.
• Collaborate with marketing to promote units through online listings and social media.
• Maintain current knowledge of pricing, availability, and community offerings.
• Provide responsive, professional customer service and timely maintenance communication.
• Maintain accurate records of leasing activities and prepare leasing reports.

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Leasing Agent to support the leasing process at Ranch at 1856, our multifamily community in San Marcos, Texas.

The Leasing Agent plays an important role in creating a positive experience for prospective and current tenants while helping market and lease available apartment homes. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, strong communication, attention to detail, and a customer-centric mindset.

What You'll Own

As the Leasing Agent, you will support the leasing process from the initial prospective tenant inquiry through the application and leasing process while providing exceptional customer service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcome and greet prospective tenants, providing a positive and professional first impression
• Assist prospective tenants throughout the leasing process by answering questions and addressing concerns
• Build rapport with prospective and current tenants and maintain positive tenant relationships
• Conduct property tours, showcasing available apartment homes, amenities, and communal areas
• Highlight the features and benefits of available units and the community to prospective tenants
• Assist prospective tenants with the application process and ensure required documentation is complete and accurate
• Conduct tenant screenings, including background and credit checks, in compliance with company policies and Fair Housing regulations
• Assist with lease negotiations and ensure lease agreements are thoroughly reviewed and understood by tenants
• Explain lease terms, rent payment procedures, and applicable additional fees
• Collaborate with marketing teams to promote available units through online listings, social media, and other marketing materials
• Maintain current knowledge of property features, pricing, availability, and community offerings
• Provide exceptional customer service by responding to tenant inquiries, concerns, and maintenance requests promptly and professionally
• Maintain a responsive, helpful, and professional attitude when interacting with tenants and prospective tenants
• Maintain accurate records of leasing activities, tenant information, and lease agreements
• Prepare and submit leasing reports and updates as required

What We're Looking For

Multifamily experience matters for this role.

Required or preferred qualifications include:

• Ability to perform the essential duties of the position satisfactorily.
• At least 2 years of experience in Leasing, Property Management, Real Estate or a related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Knowledge of Fair Housing requirements and applicable leasing regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Professional and customer-focused approach when working with prospective and current residents.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field.
• Experience with property management software.
• Previous multifamily leasing or property management experience.
• Experience with applications, tenant screening, lease documentation, and lease negotiations.
• Experience conducting property tours and promoting available units through online listings, social media, or other marketing channels.
