Overview: Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the lease administrator will function as a member of SNIPES Accounting / Finance team and work closely with our in-house legal team in a retailer environment, to assure that we, the retailer, the landlord, and any other lease stakeholders adhere to the guidelines set forth in retail leases, including financial obligations, insurance requirements, sales reporting, and other lease obligations.
Responsibilities
• Reconciling monthly and annual landlord statements/invoices.
• Processing and auditing the monthly rent roll.
• Reviewing and interpreting commercial/retail lease language (e.g. CAM obligations and exclusions, etc.)
• Reporting on sales and providing various other ad hoc reporting when needed including gross sales and precent rent reports
• Reconciling and reporting on lease accounting adjustments with landlords and provide timely updates to leadership.
• Resolving and negotiating successful financial/accounting disputes and lease-driven issues with landlords
• Ability to work cross functionally with key partners in Legal, Real Estate, and Store Operations.
• Demonstrating a high level of confidence, professionalism, and adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality.
Qualifications
• 2-4 years’ experience as a lease administrator, preferably in retail
• General knowledge of accounting practices, lease financial management, reconciliation skills
• Ability to interpret commercial leases
• Fluent computer skills, especially in Excel and Word
• Ability to multi-task and work cross functionally with key partners in the headquarters
• Ability to confidently interact with landlords and external stakeholders
• Strong knowledge of lease databases. Preferably AMTDirect or similar software.
