Job summary

Amazon in Illinois, Waukegan, is seeking a Sort Center Learning Trainer to work with Operations Managers and Associates. The role focuses on measuring production quality and quantity and applying learning tools to improve performance.

You will maintain expert knowledge in at least two production departments, refine training tools, support SOP updates, and help drive peak and non-peak training plans. Strong public speaking and feedback skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office products experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk for up to 12 hours.
  • Work 40 hours/week, with overtime as required.

Job description

The Sort Center Learning Trainer works with Operations Managers, Area Managers, Process Assistants and Associates. They constantly improve the long-term capabilities of the area to which they are assigned. The ideal candidate will measure production quality and quantity and applies learning tools to improve both. Maintains expert-level knowledge in at least two production departments; evaluates and improves processes within work areas; refines learning tools and techniques across the Sort Center; assists in measuring the effectiveness of learning; measures impact of their development efforts; improves associates' job-related skills; develops, maintains and applies learning tools (methods, checklists and skill building agreements) to encourage associate development. Identifies areas for associate cross training and support and implements the training to support the objective; supports the updating of SOPs and SOP certification of associates and managers; assists in driving success of peak and non-peak training plans.

Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
  • High school or equivalent
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
  • Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior training, teaching or presentation experience
  • Willingness to work different shifts
  • Shift hours for this position may be different from the standard production shifts
  • Willingness to work in different areas as required by training needs
  • Excellent attendance
  • Candidates must be very organized and able to handle multiple and changing projects/priorities
  • Willingness to participate in and support the Operational Excellence initiatives

Starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
