Job summary

Devereux Pocono Center in Newfoundland, PA is seeking a Learning Specialist to design, schedule and deliver training for Devereux staff using a variety of adult-learning strategies.

The role coordinates, facilitates, monitors, evaluates and records training activities, and supports the creation and development of training materials. A Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year in a behavioral healthcare setting are preferred, with First Aid/CPR certification and LMS experience advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in development, education, training or related field.
  • 1+ year experience in a behavioral healthcare setting and staff training.
  • Instructor certifications in First Aid, CPR and CPI preferred.
  • Experience with learning management systems and data tools.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and deliver training for Devereux employees.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, monitor, evaluate and record training activities.
  • Assist to create and develop training materials.

Devereux Pocono Center provides programs and services for adults with developmental disabilities. Located in Newfoundland, PAthe Learning Specialist schedules and delivers training and development to Devereux employees using a variety of instructional strategies and activities suited for adult learners. The Learning Specialist will coordinate, facilitate, monitor, evaluate, and record training activities as well as assist to create and develop training materials.

Payrate: $19.11/hr-$21.79/hr dependent upon experience

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in development, education, training, or related field preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience: Minimum of 1 years’ experience working within a behavioral healthcare setting. At least 1 year of experience conducting staff training and development, preferably in health care or social services setting. Instructor's certification in First Aid, CPR, and Crisis Prevention/Intervention preferred. Experience with learning management systems and data collection/analyzing platforms (Absorb, MyAvatar, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position) preferred.
