Qualifications

• Familiarity with higher education resources for student support.

Responsibilities

• Teaches study strategies and learning skills using cognitive/behavioral theories.
• Provides individual counseling to improve learning skills and attitudes.
• Assesses study strategies, time management, and organizational skills; offers disability counseling.
• Recruits, trains, and supervises student tutors when needed.
• Evaluates program activities and performance reports.
• Collaborates with university departments to promote TRIO SSS services and retention.
• Attends courses and trainings to specialize in TRIO SSS participant needs.
• Develops curriculum and teaches USU 1060: Reading for College Success.
• Incorporates new technologies to reach all learners.
• Develops assessments to measure learning and adjusts methods accordingly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
