$65,000-$106,500 USD
*Final compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s years of relevant experience, education, internal equity considerations and organizational needs. Please note that compensation will be prorated based on the employee’s date of hire and Department of Labor (DOL) classification, including but not limited to full-time, part-time, exempt, or non-exempt status. All compensation is subject to applicable deductions and withholdings in accordance with federal, state, and local laws. Provide input to the Admissions Committee regarding potential students
It is preferred that applicants have teaching experience and a bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field. A master’s degree and/or Educational Therapist certification or coursework is preferred.
Candidates preferably have experience serving as a learning specialist in a high school. It is also preferred that candidates have experience reviewing psychoeducational testing, developing student accommodation plans, and tracking progress over time. This role will also lead professional development for teachers to support student learning and potentially small groups of students in workshop format.
The candidate should be a self-starter, very knowledgeable in his/her teaching field, flexible, and passionate about educating young adults. The candidate should be a skilled communicator in guiding the student support team towards determining shared goals: students, parents/guardians, teachers, counselors, administration, and outside experts. The candidate should be committed to developing and practicing cultural competence in their role.
